Problems with Removal from Environment

Page history last edited by Charlie 1 yr ago

If Lactobacillus Bulgaricus was not part of our environment, there would be a couple negative effects.

- Speed and efficiency of the production of yogurt, milk and other dairy would decrease.

Ever since the more mainstream use of Lactobacillus Bulgaricus in the cultivation of dairy products, there has been a major increase in import and export of these products, and the economic effect of L. Bulgaricus has been signifigant as well (see FrontPage.) Lactobacillus Bulgaricus helps milk clot, which gives yogurt it's thickness and distinct flavour. Without this bacteria, dairy cultivists would need to find other ways to ferment and create yogurt and other similar dairy products.

- The human immune system could suffer.

Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, which is one of the probiotic bacteria that can be found in the human intestine and they improve digestion, and help produce vitamin B. By living on the wall of the intestines, they help improve overall healthiness, and help keep the amount of disease causing bacteria in check. Lactobacillus does this by producing lactic acid, which kills said bacteria. If L. bulgaricus was to dissapear, disease causing bacteria could invade the body, and it would take awhile for the immune system to learn how to counteract these bacteria, if it would at all. It could results in vitamin B defficiency, possibly problems with digestion, and it would make the human body generally more susceptible to harmful substances, and it would weaken the immune system.
